About this product

The La Sportiva Mistral is a men's climbing shoe designed to balance technique-building performance with all-day comfort, making it well suited for both indoor and outdoor sessions. Its subtle asymmetry and moderate down-turn position the foot to deliver power and precision without excessive strain, while unlined uppers keep things soft and comfortable during extended wear. A sticky rubber toecap is integrated over the vamp, reinforcing the rand for improved toe hooking and jamming performance as well as long-term durability. The vegan Skinlike Microbase insole is a three-layer construction combining 0.6 mm absorbent, anti-odor microfiber with breathable adhesive and 1.6 mm structural microfiber. The FriXion ECO outsole rubber is made from 100 percent recycled rubber scraps sourced from other La Sportiva climbing products. The shoe is also constructed without intentionally added PFAS. Available in Hawaiian Sun and Lime Punch colorway.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the La Sportiva Mistral for its exceptional out-of-the-box comfort, calling it one of the most foot-friendly climbing shoes available for long gym sessions and multi-pitch trad routes. The soft, vegan microfiber upper, solid edging power, and rubber toe cap for crack jamming and toe hooking earn repeated compliments. Its eco-friendly construction using recycled FriXion rubber is also noted positively. The most common criticism is that the Mistral is not a high-performance shoe: climbers pushing harder grades or aggressive overhanging problems find it lacks the precision and sensitivity of more specialized footwear. Narrow-footed climbers also flag that the generous toe box can feel too roomy.
