About this product

The La Sportiva Mistral is a men's climbing shoe designed to balance technique development with all-day comfort, making it well suited for both indoor and outdoor sessions. Its subtle asymmetry and moderate downturn position the foot for power and precision without excessive aggression, so climbers can wear the shoe through long training periods without discomfort. Unlined uppers keep the fit soft and supple, while an integrated rubber toecap over the vamp reinforces the forefoot for reliable toe hooking and lasting durability. The sticky patch of toe rubber is built into the rand, further improving jamming performance. Underfoot, the FriXion ECO outsole is made from 100% recycled rubber sourced from scraps of other La Sportiva products. The vegan Skinlike Microbase insole uses a three-layer construction combining 0.6 mm absorbent, anti-odor microfiber, a breathable adhesive layer, and 1.6 mm structural microfiber. The shoe is also constructed without any intentionally added PFAS.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the La Sportiva Mistral for its exceptional out-of-the-box comfort, calling it one of the most foot-friendly climbing shoes available for long gym sessions, multi-pitch trad routes, and crack climbing. The soft, plush vegan microfiber upper, stiff midsole support on small footholds, and solid FriXion ECO rubber grip earn repeated compliments. Its eco-friendly, fully vegan construction is also a noted plus. The most common criticism is that it is not a high-performance shoe for advanced climbers: edging on technical terrain is described as a mixed bag, and it falls short on steep, aggressive problems. Narrow-footed climbers may find the roomy toe box too loose, and the heel is considered unremarkable.
