About this product
The Petzl Hirundos is a performance climbing harness built for gym and outdoor crag use, balancing low weight with all-day comfort. FuseFrame technology shapes a thin, supple waistbelt that moves freely with the body, while elasticized leg loops stay adjusted without constant readjustment. The small size fits a waist of 65 to 71 cm (26 to 28 in) and leg loops of 48 to 53 cm (19 to 21 in), with the full range spanning up to a 100 cm waist across five sizes. Weight runs 260 to 340 g depending on size. The waistbelt uses a forged aluminum Doubleback HD buckle for smooth, secure one-handed adjustment. Tie-in points are reinforced with high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) to resist wear from rope friction. Four equipment loops total, two rigid at the front for quick quickdraw clipping and two flexible at the rear, plus two Caritool slots and one rear loop for a trail line. The harness ships in a protective carry bag and meets CE EN 12277 type C and UIAA certifications. Materials include nylon, polyester, EVA, polyurethane, aluminum, and HMPE.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Petzl Hirundos for its lightweight build, excellent breathability, and versatility across sport climbing, gym use, and even alpine missions. The ventilated foam and slim profile earn repeated compliments, and many users note it is surprisingly comfortable given how little it weighs. Petzl's reliable DoubleBack buckle and durable construction are also frequently highlighted. The most common criticism is that the thin waistbelt and leg loops become uncomfortable during extended hang time or big-wall sessions. The lack of adjustable leg loops is a noted limitation for some body types, and a few reviewers flag that the slim gear loops feel cramped when carrying a full rack.
