About this product
The Pivot Shadowcat Eagle 70/90 Brunch Ride is a 27.5-inch trail mountain bike built around an Ultra-Light Hollow Core carbon frame that delivers 140mm of rear travel at a weight closer to an XC build than a typical trail bike. The dw-link suspension platform is tuned to resist pedaling bob without producing a harsh ride, and it pairs with a Fox Float Rhythm rear shock and a Fox Performance 36 fork (160mm travel, 44mm offset) up front. A 65.8-degree head tube angle and 430mm chainstays favor quick direction changes on tight singletrack. Drivetrain duties fall to a mixed SRAM Eagle 70/90 Transmission groupset: a 12-speed Sram Eagle 70 Flattop chain and crankset, an XS-1270 cassette (10-52T), and Eagle 90 mechanical shifters and rear derailleur. Reynolds Blacklabel Trail Pro carbon wheels carry 27.5 x 2.4-inch Maxxis Dissector tires, while Sram DB8 Stealth 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm Centerlock rotors handle stopping. Full internal routing, a UDH rear derailleur hanger, and Pivot Tool Dock compatible mounts round out the build. Pedals are not included.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Pivot Shadowcat for its exceptional climbing ability, with its ultra-light carbon frame and efficient dw-link suspension allowing it to pedal faster than many bikes with less travel. The 27.5-inch wheels and short 430mm chainstays earn repeated praise for delivering snappy, playful handling on tight and technical trails. Experts also highlight how quiet and clean the build is, with minimal cable rattle. The most common criticisms are that the bike can feel overwhelmed on very rough or steep terrain, the rear tire grip suffers in wet conditions, and taller riders may find the fit and geometry less than ideal. Some reviewers also note the seat tube angle feels slightly slack and that advanced riders may want more suspension adjustability.
