About this product
The Scarpa Generator V is a low-top climbing shoe built around the FGLV last with a moderately downturned, moderately asymmetric profile, making it well suited to trad climbing and multi-pitch routes where sustained edging is a priority. The 2mm chrome-free Eco Suede upper is durable and supple, backed by recycled microfiber for added comfort, and the shoe is fully PFAS compliant. A Dynamic Flexan midsole delivers the rigidity needed to stand on small footholds for extended periods without excessive fatigue. The Tri-Tension active rand reinforces underfoot support during sustained edging and thin crack jamming, while a super sticky M70 rubber toe rand adds friction and precision. The 4mm Vibram XS Edge outsole provides reliable grip and stability across a range of rock types. A PAF heel system distributes tension evenly at the back of the shoe for a secure, comfortable fit, and dual Velcro closures allow quick on-and-off convenience. The breathable stretch-mesh tongue contributes to a precise fit. Weight is 270g (9.5oz) per half pair at size 38.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Scarpa Generator V Women's for its impressive balance of all-day comfort and serious edging performance, calling it a standout choice for trad, multi-pitch, and techy single-pitch climbing. The Vibram XS Edge sole, stiff TRI tension system, and PAF heel are frequently highlighted for delivering precise footwork on small holds without causing foot fatigue over long sessions. Build quality and the adjustable lacing system also earn repeated compliments. The most common criticisms center on the wider, more relaxed toe box, which can feel too roomy for climbers with very narrow or pointed feet. Reviewers also note the shoe is not suited for aggressive bouldering or steep sport climbing, and some find the price high relative to its non-downturned, comfort-focused design.
