About this product

The North Face Ridgelite Futurefleece Wind Jacket is a lightweight, packable women's shell built for trail and ridge use. The outer shell is constructed from 15-denier, 32 g/m² WINDWALL recycled nylon with a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish, while the lining uses 30-denier, 65 g/m² FUTUREFLEECE recycled polyester, making both the body and lining fully recycled materials. At an average weight of 7.2 oz (203 g), it packs into its own hood and can be secured with the hood's cinch-cord and rivet for easy carrying. The attached, adjustable three-piece hood features a rear cinch-cord with cord lock, and the regular fit is enhanced by underarm gussets for freedom of movement. A full-length center front zip, secure-zip hand pockets with reverse-coil zippers, encased-elastic cuffs, and an internal hem cinch-cord round out the functional details. A reflective bar on the lower back adds low-light visibility. Center back length measures 25.25 inches.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Ridgelite Futurefleece Wind Jacket for its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, noting that the thin fabric delivers surprising wind protection and a soft, comfortable feel against the skin. Its ultralight build (around 7 ounces) and versatility across activities, from cold-weather running to hiking and travel, are frequently highlighted strengths. The regular, roomier fit through the hips is appreciated by those who find slim-cut competitors too restrictive. The most common criticisms are that the jacket does not pack into its hood as neatly as expected, with some users resorting to a stuff sack, and that certain colorways look different in person than in product photos. It is also noted as a wind and light-weather layer only, not a substitute for a rain jacket or heavier insulation in serious cold.
