About this product

The North Face Women's ThermoBall Jacket is a packable synthetic insulated jacket built for versatility across everyday and outdoor use. Its ThermoBall insulation, made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester at 11g/ft², retains warmth even in wet conditions, while the windproof WindWall shell fabric (20D, 44g/m², 100% recycled polyester) adds a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish for light moisture resistance. The lining is a 30D, 52g/m² WindWall recycled polyester. At a center back length of 24.25 inches (61.6 cm), the standard fit runs true to size. Functional details include an open Vislon center front zipper with a draft flap and chin guard, a drawstring hem with cord locks on each side, secure zippered hand pockets, and the jacket stows neatly into the right hand pocket. Embroidered logos appear on the left chest and back right shoulder. All fabrics and fill are recycled, and the jacket follows a circular design intended to be disassembled and recycled at end of life.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the North Face ThermoBall Women's Jacket for its impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, lightweight feel, and versatility as both a standalone jacket and a layering piece. The synthetic ThermoBall insulation, which retains warmth even when wet, and the wind-resistant, water-repellent shell are frequently highlighted strengths. Users also appreciate its packability and clean, flattering style. The most common criticisms center on fit and coverage: the torso and sleeves run shorter than competing jackets, which can leave wrists and the lower back exposed, and the shoulders lack the stretch needed for active or high-mobility use. Some expert testers note it is best suited for casual, everyday wear rather than technical outdoor activities, and a handful of users have flagged insulation leaking through the shell over time.
