About this product
The L.L.Bean Northern Guide Tent is a four-person freestanding tent built for families who camp in variable weather. The fly is constructed from 75D Ripstop Polyester with a 1500mm PU coating, and the tent body shares the same 75D Ripstop Polyester fabric, while the floor uses a super-tough 4 oz Oxford Nylon also rated to 1500mm PU for reliable rain protection. All seams are fully sealed. The interior floor measures 7'2" by 8'4", delivering 60 square feet of sleeping space with a generous 5'9" peak height, giving most adults comfortable standing room. A rear vestibule adds 11.9 square feet of covered storage for wet boots and muddy gear, keeping the sleeping area clean and dry. Dual doors and roof vents promote airflow throughout the tent. The aluminum frame keeps packed weight at approximately 17 lb. 6 oz (7,711 g), and the tent packs into a duffle-style stuff sack. YKK zippers are used throughout for long-term durability. The Pine Forest colorway is the available finish.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the L.L.Bean Northern Guide 4-Person Tent for its sturdy weather resistance, near-stand-up peak height of 5'9", and easy setup. The rear vestibule (or "mud room") earns repeated appreciation for keeping wet gear out of the sleeping area, and the aluminum poles and YKK zippers are noted as quality construction highlights. The tent is widely regarded as a reliable car-camping choice. The most common complaints center on ventilation: multiple reviewers flag the absence of a mesh screen on the rear door as a notable design flaw that makes the tent stuffy in warm weather. A few buyers also report isolated leaking through floor seams, and the 17-plus-pound weight is flagged as a drawback for anyone considering portaging or backpacking. Some feel the current version represents a step down from earlier L.L.Bean tent quality.
