About this product
The Rab Mythic 400 is a high-performance mummy sleeping bag built for mountaineering and fast-and-light alpine objectives where every gram counts. It is filled with 400g of 900-fill-power RDS-certified European goose down treated with a Nikwax fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish, and the shell is constructed from a 7D Atmos Nylon Ripstop fabric (23gsm) with a DWR treatment for wind and water resistance. The bag weighs just 660g (23.3oz) and packs down to 35x23cm (13.8x9.1in) in the included roll-top waterproof compression sack. ISO EN 13537:2012 ratings place the comfort threshold at -1°C (30°F), the limit at -6°C (21°F), and the extreme at -24°C (-11°F). A chevron baffle design reduces down migration and minimises fabric use compared to traditional horizontal baffles, while trapezoidal boxwall construction with a differential cut allows full loft. An adjustable neck baffle and a synthetic-filled internal zip baffle both work to retain heat. The angled foot box supports a natural sleeping posture, and the bag is hand-filled in the UK in a left-zip regular fit, available in Cloud colourway.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Mythic 400 for its exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, crediting the 900-fill-power hydrophobic goose down and ultra-thin shell fabric for delivering impressive insulation at around 660g. The soft liner, well-articulated foot box, and included waterproof stuff sack also earn frequent compliments. The most common criticisms center on the narrow, tapered cut, which feels constrictive in the lower body and is particularly noted by side sleepers and larger users. The half-length zipper, while saving weight, limits ventilation on warmer nights and can snag. Some cold sleepers also question whether the bag fully lives up to its stated -6C temperature rating. Experts and users agree it is a specialist tool best suited to ultralight alpinists and fastpackers, not a versatile all-rounder.
