About this product
The North Face Wawona 4 is a four-person camping tent built around a hybrid double-wall construction that balances weather protection with ventilation. The canopy and fly are both 75D polyester with a 1200mm PU coating, while the heavier 150D polyester floor carries a 1500mm PU coating for added ground-level moisture resistance. All seams are sealed, and welded reinforcements at critical points on the fly add durability in rough conditions. External guylines provide extra stability when weather turns, and the DAC MX pole set delivers strength without added weight. Color-coded poles and trims simplify setup. Inside, the generous floor area of 58.13 square feet (5.4 square meters) and massive interior height allow occupants to stand or sit in chairs comfortably. A large mesh front door supports airflow, and ceiling pockets plus internal organization pockets keep gear tidy. The dual vestibules offer substantial covered storage, with a front vestibule of 27.6 square feet (2.6 square meters) and a rear vestibule of 14.9 square feet (1.4 square meters). Trail weight is 11 lbs 11 oz (5.3 kg), with a total packed weight of 13 lbs (5.9 kg) and a stuff sack measuring 10 by 32 inches. The tent is made without flame-retardant coatings.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the North Face Wawona 4 for its generous standing headroom (68-inch peak), spacious interior, and large front vestibule that doubles as covered gear storage and a sheltered hangout area. The durable DAC aluminum poles, heavy-duty 150D polyester floor, and double-wall construction earn repeated compliments for weather resistance, with many owners reporting staying completely dry through heavy rain. Setup is widely described as quick and manageable solo. The most common criticisms are that the tent struggles in strong winds, acting like a sail and stressing the poles, and that the extensive mesh paneling creates a drafty, cold feel in cooler temperatures and condensation buildup on wet nights. Some users also note the 58-square-foot floor feels tight for a true four-person group, making it better suited for two adults or a small family. Weight (around 13 lbs) limits it strictly to car camping.
