The Armada ARV 116 JJ UL is a wide-waisted freeride ski built for backcountry touring and deep powder days, available in lengths of 165, 175, 185, and 192 cm with a 116 mm waist width. Its Caruba core uses Armada's lightest wood species to minimize swing weight without sacrificing the power and dampness needed for demanding descents. A directional fiberglass Laminate Matrix governs flex pattern and torsional rigidity, producing a lively yet forgiving ride with quick response. The flex profile is soft in the tip (3 out of 10), moderate at the waist (5), and slightly softer in the tail (4), complementing the Freestyle Rocker geometry, which pairs rockered tips and tails with positive camber underfoot for confident charging through variable snow. AR75 sidewalls deliver firm edge pressure underfoot, while cap construction in the tip and tail smooths turn initiation. Smear Tech, a 3D beveled base geometry at the tip and tail, reduces catching in crud and aids self-centering in deep snow. Lightweight 1.7 heat-treated edges and an S7 base with a speed additive round out the construction. A two-year warranty is included.
