The Big Agnes Battle Mountain 2 is a four-season, two-person mountaineering tent designed for high-alpine conditions where weather reliability is non-negotiable. Developed in collaboration with Chhiring Dorje Sherpa, a seventeen-time Everest summiteer, the tent reflects genuine expedition input. Its gold Dominico polyester ripstop fly uses high-tenacity yarn that improves tear strength by 20 to 25 percent over standard ripstop, backed by a silicone treatment and 1200mm PU coating to block wind-driven precipitation. The nylon taffeta floor carries a 10,000mm waterproof rating, keeping groundwater out even on snow platforms. Interior floor space measures 31 square feet (84 by 54 to 36 inches) with 42 inches of headroom, while two vestibules add 10 and 3.5 square feet of gear storage. DAC NSL poles attach via Twist Clips and H Clips for fast, gloved-hand setup, and high and low guy loops improve stability in high winds. Pre-cut guylines deploy immediately from the bag. The freestanding double-wall structure packs to 20 by 6 inches at a packed weight of 7 pounds 8 ounces, with a trail weight of 6 pounds 10 ounces. A lifetime manufacturer warranty is included.
