The Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 XL is a three-season, three-person double-wall tent built for ultralight backpacking without sacrificing livability. Compared to the standard Copper Spur UL3, this XL version adds 6 inches of length, 2 inches of width, and 4 inches of headroom, resulting in a 44 square foot floor (96 by 72 inches) and a 47-inch interior height that comfortably accommodates wider sleeping pads and extra gear. The rainfly and floor use Big Agnes's proprietary HyperBead fabric, a PFAS-free waterproof construction combining 15D nylon and 20D ripstop with a 1,500mm waterproof coating and fully PU-taped seams. Two DAC NFL poles create a high-volume freestanding structure, while dual doors and two 9-square-foot vestibules offer generous access and storage. Ventilation comes from a mesh canopy and Low Vent vestibule design. Trail weight is 3 pounds 9 ounces, with a packed weight of 3 pounds 15 ounces and a packed size of 22 by 6.5 inches. Setup is aided by TipLok Tent Buckle pole attachment and reflective guylines. A fast-pitch option (requiring a separately sold footprint) brings weight down to 2 pounds 14 ounces.
