The Garmin Varia RCT715 is a rear radar tail light with an integrated camera, designed for road cycling and cycle commuting. It records footage in 1080p or 720p at 30 frames per second through a 140-degree viewing angle, and stores video on the included 16GB microSD card, with support for cards up to 128GB. The radar detects approaching vehicles up to 140 meters away and tracks up to six simultaneously, displaying each as a color-coded indicator on a compatible Garmin Edge unit: green for clear, yellow for a vehicle at normal speed, and red for a fast-approaching car. Audible alerts are also available, with beep frequency increasing as a vehicle closes in. Four lighting modes cover a range of conditions, including a day flash at 65 lumens with a 6-hour burn time and a peloton mode at 8 lumens that dims automatically when riding in a group. The light offers a 220-degree visibility angle, IPX7 waterproofing, USB-C charging with a 3 to 5 hour charge time, and weighs 197 grams. A tool-free seat post mount is included.
