About this product

The Gregory Baltoro 65 is a men's internal-frame backpacking pack built for multiday trips, offered here in Ferrous Orange. The medium size holds 65 liters (3,966 cubic inches) and measures 32 x 13 x 13 inches, while the frame uses alloy steel stays (two in total) plus a fiberglass anti-barreling cross-stay for stable load management. Shell fabric is 2,100-denier high-density nylon with 40% recycled content, backed by a 135-denier postconsumer recycled polyester lining, and all fabrics carry a PFC-free durable water repellent treatment. The FreeFloat A3 dynamic carry system lets the hipbelt, shoulder harness, and lower back panel conform to individual body geometry, while auto-rotating dual-density shoulder straps and a ComfortGrip lumbar pad reduce pack slip. The AirCushion back panel uses a proprietary 3D mesh that is over 90% open air for on-body breathability. Access options include a top lid, front U-zip, and bottom sleeping bag compartment, supported by nine exterior pockets plus the main compartment. A hydration sleeve with SpeedClip hanger accommodates a reservoir (sold separately), and a rain cover is included. Torso length is adjustable across three sizes with overlapping fit ranges, and all suspension components feature Polygiene odor-control treatment.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Gregory Baltoro 65 for its exceptional comfort under heavy loads, with the padded, adjustable hip belt and harness frequently highlighted as standout features that mold to the wearer's body over time. The abundance of external pockets and organizational options, including a front panel zipper, sleeping bag compartment, and removable top lid that doubles as a daypack, earns near-universal appreciation. Durability and build quality are also recurring positives. The most common complaint, raised by nearly every reviewer, is the pack's significant weight, which can exceed six pounds empty, making it a poor fit for those prioritizing a lightweight setup. It is best suited for multi-day trips with heavier loads rather than fast-and-light outings.
