About this product

The Mammut Taiss Pro HS Hooded Jacket is a men's mountaineering shell built for demanding alpine conditions, equally suited to casual hiking, climbing, and backcountry riding. Its core is the Mammut DRYtechnology Pro 3L laminate, a three-layer construction with a 20,000mm waterproof rating and 20,000g/m2 breathability rating, backed by fully sealed seams and a DWR-treated 100% nylon face fabric that resists abrasion and moisture saturation. The regular fit falls to hip length and weighs 454g (1lb 7oz) packed. Ventilation comes from X-vented underarm zips, while the full-length front zipper aids temperature regulation on the move. The adjustable hood is designed to stay put in wind and blowing snow. Storage includes two external chest pockets, one internal zippered stash pocket, and one internal mesh pocket. A zip-off powder skirt adds versatility across activities. Available in Deep Teal/Black, the jacket carries a two-year manufacturer warranty.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Mammut Taiss Pro HS Hooded Jacket for its exceptional breathability and strong weather resistance, with its proprietary Dry Tech membrane drawing favorable comparisons to Gore-Tex Pro at a lower price point. The stretch nylon fabric earns repeated credit for enabling excellent freedom of movement, making it a favorite for technical mountaineering, ski touring, and alpine climbing. The helmet-compatible hood, harness-compatible pocket placement, and low weight are frequently highlighted as standout features. The most common criticism is that the jacket runs short in the body for taller users and is not roomy enough for heavy winter layering, limiting its appeal for deep-winter use. Long-term durability of the proprietary membrane, compared to Gore-Tex, is also noted as a mild concern.
