About this product
The Marmot Halo is a freestanding 4-person, 3-season tent designed for backpacking and weekend camping, offering a generous 64 square feet of floor space across a 96 by 96 inch footprint. Near-vertical walls make the most of that area, and a 59-inch interior height lets most campers move around without constant crouching. The double-wall construction pairs a 68D nylon fly with PU coating rated to 1800mm against a 70D nylon floor rated to 3000mm, keeping ground moisture and rain at bay on saturated terrain. All seams are fully sealed for added protection. DAC DA17 aluminum poles (12mm) provide reliable structure in wind and rain, and color-coded clips and sleeves speed up pitching considerably. Two doors and two vestibules (27 square feet front, 24 square feet rear) keep boots and wet gear outside the sleeping area. Four adjustable fly vents help manage condensation overnight. The tent includes a gear loft for interior organization, packs down to 11 by 25 inches, and weighs approximately 12 pounds 12 ounces. A footprint is sold separately. Backed by a lifetime manufacturer warranty.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Marmot Halo 4P for its nearly vertical walls and generous headroom, created by the signature encircling halo pole system, which makes the interior feel surprisingly spacious for a 4-person tent. Easy setup, durable materials, solid wind resistance when fully staked, and a well-designed dual-vestibule layout for gear storage are recurring highlights. The tent's ventilation system, with multiple fly vents and mesh panels, also earns consistent approval. The most common complaints center on water pooling at the junction of the halo poles and vestibule area during heavy rain, occasional zipper snag issues on the rain fly flap, and the weight (around 13 lbs), which makes it best suited for car camping rather than backpacking. A few users note the interior feels tight for a true four-person group, making it more comfortable for two to three people with gear.
