About this product
The Marmot Sawtooth is a men's mummy-style sleeping bag built for backpacking, rated to 15 degrees Fahrenheit (negative 9 degrees Celsius) based on ISO testing. It uses RDS-certified 650-fill-power down treated with Down Defender, a water-resistant finish that helps maintain loft in damp conditions. Both the shell and lining are made from 100 percent preconsumer recycled materials, specifically a ripstop nylon shell and a nylon taffeta lining, keeping the regular Long version's packed weight at 3 pounds 0.3 ounces and its stuff sack volume at 9.8 liters. Dual-side half zippers allow entry from either side, and extended zipper flaps open the bag into a blanket-like configuration. A dedicated footbox zipper can be opened for ventilation or closed for added warmth. An internal stash pocket keeps small essentials accessible, and both a stuff sack and a storage sack are included. The bag is also available in a Long X-Wide cut with a 65.7-inch shoulder girth and an 11.6-liter packed volume.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Marmot Sawtooth for its reliable warmth at the 15-degree rating, comfortable interior, and well-designed features including a well-fitting anatomic hood, effective draft collar, and the versatile zippered footbox that allows users to adjust ventilation and space. The dual side-zipper system earns frequent compliments for making entry and exit easy and improving overall sleep comfort. The 650-fill down with water-resistant treatment is seen as a solid value for three-season backpacking. The most common criticism is weight and packability: the bag runs heavier and bulkier than competing down bags at a similar price, largely due to the lower fill power and added water-resistant fabric panels. Some users also note that the newer version feels like a step down in quality compared to older Sawtooth models.
