About this product
The Völkl Blaze 114 is a freeride ski built for off-piste and big-mountain terrain, with enough versatility to handle freeride touring and occasional groomed runs. At 192 cm with a 114 mm waist and an 18-meter turn radius, it delivers a level of maneuverability that is notably agile for its width. The sidecut measures 154-114-136 mm, and tip-and-tail rocker combined with an open radius at both the shovel and tail makes turn initiation responsive across variable snow. A 0.3 mm titanal sheet is integrated into the 3D Radius Sidecut at the center of the ski, just above the sidewall, providing precision and stability at speed, while the outer tip and tail sections remain titanal-free to preserve liveliness. The multilayer wood core uses FSC-certified wood and Völkl's Green Core technology, replacing conventional PU foam with an Isocore made from recycled PET bottles, and the P-Tex 2100 base is also recycled. Flex increases with ski length so that riders of different sizes experience consistent performance. Pre-cut skin compatibility is included for touring use.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Volkl Blaze 114 for its impressive combination of light weight (under 2,000 grams) and surprising stability, calling it fun, playful, and nimble for a 114mm ski. Its powder flotation, crud performance, and agility in glades and variable snow earn high marks across expert tests, with many noting it works well as both a resort powder ski and a freeride touring option. The 3D Radius Sidecut is credited for making it more maneuverable and precise than expected at this width. The most common criticism is that it is not built for hard snow or groomer-focused skiers; reviewers note it lacks the raw power and high-speed stability of heavier chargers, and those who ski primarily on hardpack or at aggressive speeds will find it wanting. It is best suited to intermediate-to-advanced skiers who prioritize soft snow and versatility over all-out performance.
