About this product

The Burton Smalls Snowboard is a youth-oriented freestyle board built for young riders who are ready to push their skills in the park and across natural mountain terrain. Its soft flex profile is achieved through Burton's Filet-O-Flex construction, which delivers a super-soft feel while maintaining notable stability, durability, and edge grip. A rocker profile contributes a loose, playful character that suits freestyle riding, while the overall design keeps things balanced and controlled for lighter riders. The board is tuned specifically for kids with the ability to take their riding further, rather than being a beginner-only option. It is compatible with Burton's Channel mounting system and is backed by a three-year warranty from the date of purchase, applicable to 2014 and newer Burton boards using that system. For young riders looking for a capable, park-ready snowboard that does not sacrifice stability for softness, the Smalls is a well-considered choice.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Burton Smalls for its soft flex and impressive stability, making it a strong all-mountain option for young riders who have moved past the beginner stage. The Flat Top profile is widely noted for reducing edge catches and making park features like rails and boxes more approachable, while the twin shape earns credit for being equally comfortable regular or switch. Parents and young testers highlight that the board feels confidence-inspiring at speed. The most common criticism is the limited size range, with many parents wishing the line extended into larger lengths to accommodate fast-growing kids for more than one season. Some forum users also note that kids can outgrow the board quickly, making the value proposition a consideration.
