About this product
The K2 Recon 120 BOA is an alpine ski boot built for advanced to expert skiers seeking a lightweight, high-performance fit. Its PowerLite Shell combines four different stiffnesses of TPU with optimized wall thickness profiling to balance agility and power transfer, while the rear co-injected PowerFuse SpYne adds lateral stiffness and fore/aft flex efficiency across varied terrain. Both the shell and cuff are fully heat moldable for a custom fit. The closure system pairs two buckles with a BOA lower shell dial for precise, tool-free micro-adjustment. A 120 flex index delivers confident response, and forward lean is adjustable between 12 and 14 degrees via a removable Power Wedge. The Precisionfit Pro liner features an asymmetric tongue, pre-molded ankle pockets, Ultralon heat-moldable foam, and a high-density power collar. The modular honeycomb bootboard accepts two interchangeable heel inserts, one for damping and one for firmer power transfer. The GripWalk (ISO 23223) sole adds walkability, and the boot carries a one-year warranty.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the K2 Recon 120 BOA for its notably lightweight Powerlite shell, which testers say reduces fatigue over long ski days without sacrificing stiffness. The BOA closure system earns strong marks for delivering an even, micro-adjustable wrap across the foot, eliminating the pressure points common with traditional buckle boots. The heat-moldable shell and liner, combined with the MultiFIT last accommodating 97-100mm foot widths, are frequently highlighted as making fit customization straightforward. Experts position it as an excellent value for advanced to expert resort skiers. The most common criticism is that the flex can feel inconsistent in heavy off-piste crud or when driving large skis aggressively, making it less suited to hard-charging big-mountain use than stiffer competitors. Skiers with very narrow or very wide feet may also find the fit less ideal without professional shell work.
