Its 110 flex rating suits aggressive skiers who demand precise power transmission, while the 100 mm last accommodates feet of average width and volume. Through Salomon's Custom Shell HD heat molding process, the forefoot can expand to approximately 106 mm, and the thinner shell walls bring the foot closer to the boot for sharper terrain feedback. The shell combines polyurethane with a fiberglass CoreFrame, while the cuff uses polyolefin with a polyamide spine. A Core-Frame element runs under the midfoot from malleolus to malleolus, stiffening the shell where it matters most without unnecessary weight. Four micro-adjustable aluminum 3D buckles, including an instep buckle with three position options, pair with a 45 mm 360-degree Velcro power strap for a secure, customizable fit. The Surelock ski/walk lever sits flush with the upper buckle for fast transitions, and two hiking hooks on the cuff buckles extend range of motion in hike mode. GripWalk ISO 23223 outsoles are removable and interchangeable, and integrated low-tech inserts ensure compatibility with touring bindings. A Contagrip midgrip piece between toe and heel adds traction on rocky or icy terrain.
