About this product
The MSR Hubba Hubba LT is a 3-season, double-wall backpacking tent designed for two people, balancing a trail weight of 3 lb with a packed weight of 3 lb 6 oz (approximately 1,361 g) and a compact packed size of 20 by 5.5 inches. Its rectangular floor plan delivers 32 sq ft of interior space, and the 40-inch peak height gives occupants comfortable headroom. Two side-entry vestibules add a combined 16 sq ft of gear storage, while two doors allow each sleeper independent access. The canopy is constructed from breathable 20D polyester micromesh to reduce condensation and improve airflow. The rainfly uses 20D nylon ripstop with a 1,200mm polyether urethane coating and a PFAS-free DWR treatment, and the floor steps up to an 1,800mm coating for added moisture resistance. All seams are factory taped. A single DAC NFL aluminum pole keeps the structure freestanding and weight-efficient. Solution-dyed fabrics lower water and energy consumption during manufacturing. The tent carries a limited 3-year manufacturer warranty, and a footprint is sold separately.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the MSR Hubba Hubba LT 2 for its generous interior space, freestanding design, and fast, intuitive setup. Its sturdy double-wall construction, full-coverage rainfly with built-in door gutters, and solid weather protection in three-season conditions earn repeated commendation from both expert testers and users. The rectangular footprint and tall peak height make it notably livable for a two-person backpacking tent. The most common criticisms center on price, with many users calling it overpriced relative to competitors. Some note that the silnylon fly can sag when wet, condensation management requires careful venting and site selection, and the lighter fabrics demand mindfulness around abrasion. Dedicated ultralight backpackers also point out that lighter or cheaper alternatives exist at a similar performance level.
