About this product

The Rab Ascent 10F is a cold-weather backpacking sleeping bag rated to 10 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately -12 degrees Celsius), designed for mountain trekking where temperatures drop but full winter-expedition gear is not required. Its wide mummy shape provides more room to move than a traditional mummy cut, while sidewall baffles promote consistent loft and comfort for side sleepers. L.O.F.T baffles reduce down migration and improve packability, and the anatomical hood, 3D neck collar, and roomy footbox work together to seal in warmth at key heat-loss points. Insulation is 650-fill RDS-certified hydrophobic European duck down with a fill weight of 1 lb 8 oz, helping the bag retain warmth even in damp conditions. The 20D Pertex Quantum shell is 100% nylon with a PFC-free DWR finish, and the lining uses 100% recycled nylon. A full-length draft tube, 3/4-length YKK zipper with a zippered side vent, and one zippered side pocket round out the feature set. Packed weight is 454 g, and the bag is available in regular and long lengths.

What people are saying

Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Ascent 10F bag for reliable warmth at its rated temperature, a comfortable and roomy wide mummy fit with a spacious foot box, and good packability for its price point. The Pertex Quantum outer, down-filled draft collar, and zip baffle earn repeated praise for keeping cold spots at bay. The bag is widely seen as strong value for cold-weather camping and wild camping. The most common criticisms are that the 650-fill duck down offers a weaker warmth-to-weight ratio than higher-fill goose down alternatives, and that the zipper can snag on interior fabric. Some side sleepers note that the asymmetric down distribution (less fill on the underside) can feel noticeably cooler when rolling off the back.
