The Rab Neutrino Pro 500 is a lightweight mummy sleeping bag built for mountaineering, multi-day trekking, and fast-and-light alpine adventures. It is filled with 500g of 800-fill-power, RDS-certified European goose down treated with a Nikwax fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish to resist moisture in damp or snowy conditions. The outer shell is 20D Pertex Quantum Pro recycled nylon ripstop (40gsm) with a fluorocarbon-free DWR coating, while the lining uses 20D recycled nylon (38gsm). ISO EN 13537 ratings place the comfort threshold at 0°C (32°F), the limit at -6°C (21°F), and the extreme at -24°C (-11°F), with Rab's own sleep limit set at -9°C (15°F). Chevron-shaped baffles reduce fabric use and down migration, and trapezoidal boxwall construction allows full loft without cold spots. A close-fitting neck baffle, zip baffle, and adjustable hood drawcord all minimize heat loss. The bag packs to 35x23cm and weighs 915g (regular), making it a genuinely packable option for serious mountain use. Hand-filled in the UK, it comes with a waterproof roll-top compression sack and a cotton storage sack.
