About this product
The Rab Solar Eco 2 Sleeping Bag in XL/Wide (SKU: QSS-10) is a sustainably constructed mummy-style bag designed for spring camping, backpacking, and mountain trekking in changeable conditions. Its shell is 100% woven nylon, the outer and lining are 100% recycled polyester, and the filling is 100% polyester, making it a largely recycled-materials build throughout. The upper features a dual-layer concertina blanket construction that traps air to improve loft and warmth, while offset localised quilting reduces cold transmission. The base uses 60gsm recycled Stratus synthetic sheet insulation in a dual-layer layout. An adjustable hood closure with an elasticated drawcord and cordlock, plus a close-fitting neck baffle, help seal in heat. A YKK three-quarter-length main zip includes a synthetic insulated zip baffle and an anti-snag internal zip guard. Packed weight is 1,266 g, and a compression stuff sack is included.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Rab Solar Eco 2 XL/Wide for its eco-friendly construction, with 100% recycled Stratus insulation and recycled Atmos ripstop fabric earning strong approval from sustainability-minded campers. The wide mummy cut is highlighted as a genuine comfort advantage, offering freedom of movement without the claustrophobic feel of a standard mummy bag. The synthetic fill's ability to retain warmth when wet is a recurring positive, making it a popular pick for damp or unpredictable conditions. The anti-snag YKK zip, adjustable hood, and neck baffle are noted as well-executed details. The most common criticism is that real-world warmth falls noticeably short of the stated temperature ratings, with some users reporting feeling cold well above the comfort limit. Reviewers also note that the wide cut adds bulk and weight compared to a standard mummy shape, and some buyers were disappointed that only a stuff sack is included, with no larger storage bag for long-term keeping.
