The Smith Optics Code MIPS is a ski and snowboard helmet built around lightweight in-mold construction, which fuses the exterior shell and EPS foam into a single durable piece. Zonal Koroyd coverage adds energy-absorbing, ventilated impact protection, while the MIPS Brain Protection System works to reduce rotational forces from angled impacts. Six fixed vents provide consistent airflow, and the AirEvac ventilation system integrates directly with Smith goggles to help keep lenses fog-free. Fit is dialed in via the BOA 360 Fit System, allowing on-the-fly micro-adjustability with a single turn, and the Wayfinder strap with Fidlock hardware enables easy one-hand buckle operation. A Round Contour Fit option accommodates rounder head shapes. The technical-knit liner is compatible with Outdoor Tech audio chips, and a removable goggle strap lock streamlines the shell when goggles are worn underneath. Certified to ASTM F 2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 Class B, the helmet weighs 16 oz (450 g) in size Medium and comes with a Smith helmet bag. Sizing runs from Small (51 to 55 cm) through Extra Large (63 to 67 cm). Note that select colorways are offered without the MIPS system.
