About this product
The Armada Locator 96 is a 2026 all-mountain and powder ski built around a 96mm waist that strikes a practical balance between float in soft snow and precision on firmer terrain. Its sandwich construction pairs an ultralight caruba wood core with titanal and carbon fiber laminates, where the titanal acts as a binding dampener to absorb impacts and the carbon reinforcement adds stiffness without piling on weight. The sintered Comp Series base is designed for both speed and long-term durability, while 1.7 lightweight steel edges keep the overall weight in check. A rocker-camber-rocker profile supports versatile performance across mixed conditions. Available in five lengths from 157 to 185 cm, with tip-to-tail dimensions ranging from 124/96/114mm at 157 cm to 127/96/117mm at 185 cm and turn radii spanning 18 to 22 meters. Single-ski weights run from roughly 1,125 g at 157 cm to 1,475 g at 185 cm. The AR Bat Tail clip provides a secure attachment point for climbing skins. Bindings are sold separately, and the ski carries a limited two-year manufacturer warranty.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Armada Locator 96 as one of the most well-balanced lightweight touring skis available, highlighting its impressive uphill credentials at around 1,350 grams per ski alongside a surprisingly capable descent. The Caruba wood core with carbon and titanal reinforcements earns repeated praise for keeping the ski stable and energetic without feeling nervous or sloppy in turns. Edge-to-edge quickness and solid grip on firm terrain are frequently noted as standout strengths for a ski this light. The most common criticism is limited power compared to resort-oriented skis, and reviewers consistently flag that hard, icy conditions expose its limits. It is widely flagged as a poor fit for skiers whose primary goal is aggressive resort or high-speed downhill performance.
