About this product
The Armada Whitewalker 116 is a freeride and powder-focused alpine touring ski built around a 116mm waist that promotes float in deep snow. Available in three lengths (175, 185, and 192 cm), it uses a rocker/camber/rocker profile, with the AR Freestyle Rocker delivering a surfy feel in the tips and tails while the camber underfoot maintains edge control and stability. The ultralight Caruba core keeps the per-ski weight to 1700g at 175 cm, 1800g at 185 cm, and 1920g at 192 cm, making it a practical choice for uphill travel without sacrificing downhill performance. Smear Tech beveling in the tips and tails encourages easy pivoting and slarving, and the twin-tip construction opens up switch riding and freestyle terrain. AR75 sidewalls add precision and grip underfoot, while 1.7mm steel edges reduce swing weight. The Comp Series sintered base rounds out the build with durability and speed. Turn radius runs from 17m at 175 cm to 19m at 192 cm. No binding is included.

What people are saying
Reviewers consistently praise the Armada Whitewalker 116 for its exceptionally surfy, playful feel in deep powder, calling it one of the most unique ride experiences on the market. Its lightweight Caruba wood core earns strong marks for uphill touring performance, and the stiff tail is widely noted for reliability when landing airs or slashing at speed. The twin-tip, pin-tip design and Smear Tech construction make it a standout for backcountry freestyle skiing, spinning, buttering, and switch performance. The most common criticism is its narrow use case: reviewers note it struggles in chopped-up or heavy snow, lacks the mass to push through variable conditions, and can feel less predictable for skiers accustomed to directional shapes. It is widely described as a specialty deep-powder tool rather than a versatile all-mountain ski.
